Manually harvested during the first decade of October. Destemmed, fermented in open top vat with no temperature control. In the beginning the juice is pumped over the cap frequently. The wine is then racked and wood aged for 24 months. A bottle ageing follows
for others 24 months.
Picolit is the gem of vine and wine production in Friuli. Already in remote times it was cultivated and highly considered. Picolit is, in fact, the most noble of Friulan wines, its most prestigious fruit: a wine of great complexity, warm and mellow, harmoniously combining sweet and sharp sensations. A wine for “meditation”, as delicate and precious as its antique-gold colour.
